Darius Garland One Of The Best Long-Range Shooters In NBA History, Cavs Stats

It feels like players are expanding their range each season and continue to knock down shots well beyond the three-point line. This has each sparked a conversation about whether the NBA should introduce a four-point line at some point.

There's only a handful of players who can knock down shots from an outrageous distance and the Cleveland Cavaliers have one of them on their roster. 

Darius Garland (44) has hit the fifth most shots from 30-plus feet in NBA history. The other players in this elite group are LeBron James (55), Steph Curry (139), Trae Young (161) and Damian Lillard (185).

There's a big jump from Garland to Lillard in terms of shots made, but DG does have something over the rest of this field. The Cleveland guard has the highest three-point percentage (38.3) in this group on these types of shots.

Shooting has always been one of Garland's strengths dating back to when the Cavs took him with the fifth overall pick in the 2019 draft.

DG has a career field goal percentage of 49 percent and a career three-point percentage of 38 percent. Having a point guard who is this efficient while also dishing out an average of 6.7 assists a night is a rare talent to have. 

Cleveland locked up Garland with a five-year $197 million contract ahead of the 2022-23 season so fans will get to watch him hit long-range shots for many years to come.
